Papillon: character and behavior
Papillon Character Features
The character of the papillon is distinguished by such features as cheerfulness, courage and intelligence. You need to completely disrespect them in order to constantly carry on your hands. These crumbs perceive themselves as quite full-fledged dogs and even hunt well. Of course, a bear or a Bengal tiger will not be their victim, but butterflies, flies, mice and other small animals should beware of meeting them.

The character of the papillon is such that this doggie is devotedly devoted to the owner, and sometimes he does not like guests.
The papillon always tries to stay close; not a single thing can do without his participation. He cannot stand loneliness and, being left to his own devices, suffers terribly. For him, constant contact with the owner is important. Therefore, this breed is not suitable for a too busy person.
Papillons are extremely vocal. And any suspicious noise (and almost everyone suspects them) turns into a loud bark. It is unlikely that you will be able to adjust this character trait of the papillon. So if such a habit annoys you, it is better to stop at a more silent breed.
Otherwise, the character of the papillon can be safely called the character of an ideal pet dog. A graceful decorative doggie does not take up much space; if necessary, it fits in a small carrying case and perfectly adapts to any situation: both a city apartment and a country house. But, of course, on the street you can’t contain a papillon. And be sure to take safety measures if the pet walks on its own in the courtyard of the country house: small and nimble, it can seep into any gap and go on its own to explore the surroundings.
Papillon perfectly tolerates trips and loves travel. It will adapt well to any climatic conditions.
The character of the papillon is such that this dog is curious and loves the game. Moreover, it retains these qualities until old age.
Thanks to high intelligence, the papillon is easily trained in a variety of tricks and teams. So you can have fun yourself and delight guests with small performances. In addition, representatives of the breed are complaisant, so the training process will be pleasant and not burdensome.
Papillons are by nature very friendly and completely non-conflict, therefore, get along well with other animals, including cats.
Papillon puppy needs early socialization. It is necessary that the breeder begins to communicate with the babies before they open their eyes. This is due to the habit of these babies biting when they are scared. But if the breeder is responsible for breeding and raising puppies, this disadvantage does not appear. Puppies should be calm and trusting.
The nature of the papillon in relation to children
The playful, cheerful character of the papillon allows him to easily find a common language with any member of the family, including children.
However, the papillon is unlikely to be suitable for a family with very young children (preschool age).In the heat of passion or in the midst of violent games, a child who cannot yet control himself can inadvertently injure a four-legged friend or cause pain.
If you nevertheless ventured to take such a step, then carefully watch that the child and the dog are not left alone. Also explain to the child that the papillon is not a plush toy, but a full-fledged member of the family that deserves respect. If the dog wants to retire or feels uncomfortable, it should be able to stop communication. In addition, prevent children from disturbing the papillon with food or sleep.
